Experience an evening of heartfelt storytelling and captivating movement as singer-songwriter Janice Gilbert and LiRa Dance Theatre Company share the stage for a unique fusion of music and dance. Janice Gilbert is a talented singer-songwriter whose music is a blend of down-home roots and contemporary country, inspired by her upbringing on a farm in rural South Dakota. With award-winning songs like Corn in the Silo, Bloom and No One Has to Go, Gilbert’s lyrics draw on her personal experiences, crafting songs that speak to life, love and resilience. After honing her craft in Nashville, Gilbert returned to her roots and now shares her powerful original music at venues across the Midwest. LiRa Dance Theatre Company, a collaboration between choreographers Lisa Conlin and Raena Rasmussen, brings bold, expressive dance to the stage. Known for combining theatrics and contemporary choreography, LiRa creates dynamic performances that challenge and inspire. Their latest work, "Beautiful Things," weaves together solos, duets and group pieces with poetry to tell compelling stories through dance. With stunning visuals and thought-provoking movement, this performance will leave a lasting impression.
